Website Accessibility

An accessible website is one that can easily be used by almost anyone.  That includes people who have disabilities or limitations that require the use of screen readers, different colour schemes, larger text, or access keys. It also refers to people who may be using slow internet connections, older computers, mobile devices and older browsers.

All Fat Beehive websites are designed to be clean and easy to navigate, and to meet today’s accessibility standards.

Many websites are designed and built without any consideration given to accessibility - this is wrong and unecessary.

Why is accessibility important?

Accessibility is important because by not considering it you are potentially alienating and discouraging certain users from accessing your website. This is discriminatory and could reflect badly on your organisation.

It is also part of the law under the Disability Discrimination Act that you must make reasonable efforts to ensure that any services you offer are accessible to users with disabilities.

“It was a pleasure working with Fat Beehive, they worked hard to understand our requirements and were happy to incorporate any last minute changes.”
